In January 1980 there was a flower-arranging  demonstration and the following meeting members enjoyed a wine tasting. 10 years later at the group's 10 year birthday party the two original speakers jointly produced a flower-arranging/wine-tasting evening.

The ladies group have always had a very ambitious itinerary, in 1980 it included :- Floral Art, Winemaking, Cake Decorating, Makeup, Nylon Flowers, Surnames, Taunton Past and Present, Paper Roses, Hypnotisim, Party Plan Clothes, The British Red Cross Society, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Telecommunications Museum, Pottery Party, Pickfords Travel Agency, Fyne Court, Glove making, Sewing Machines, Skittles, Ritual Dances, The Spastics Society, Floral Art.

1981 Started with a visit to the Electricity Board.
